Sing! It's Spring!

Hello friends!  Does it look like spring where you are?  There are daffodils blooming along our street, but at my house there's nothing but a sand pit in the front yard, currently full of rain puddles.  We had some work done on our sewer line -- not at all a pretty picture, but we're happy it's done.  Now waiting for the landscaper to make some time for us.  Everything will work out.

For the time being, I can have blue skies, blooming trees, and new life on my cards.  Simon Says Stamp drew me in with all the cute stuff in their March kit and, yes, I signed up.  I figured it's not the same as shopping if it comes as a monthly subscription, right?  I know, I know!  Fooling myself.  I've been on a shopping hiatus for months, but now I have this plus some gifts from a friend, and the next SSS kit will be coming soon... you know how it is.  I'll do my best to get to all of it and have plenty of fun in the process.

The stamp set here is Tweet Friend.  I purchased the matching dies separately.  I think you can see which of the stamps were die cut.  The mailbox stamp has a little flag with heart, but I masked it off with tape before inking, then removed the tape before stamping so I could stamp the mamma bird in its place.  I colored with Copics and brushed inks on the background.  A narrow edge of pink and some wood grain-embossed white space finish the front.

I didn't exactly match the mood board, but I don't think they'll mind:

Four Seasons Challenge -- Spring

It used to be Spring was 'here' when the Robins arrived - now they seem to stick around most of the year. NONE of them are as cute or welcomed as your darling paper ones, Leslie!
I think you deserve this monthly kit - bonus: we all get to enjoy your pleasure, too!

Sweet, sweet card Leslie and how can you resist a kit filled with birdies?! Your coloring is fabulous as always and this card totally makes me smile and believe that Spring will come! Been a roller coaster here with temps in the upper 60's one day and snow the next, so nothing but my snowdrops blooming yet! Sigh... Hugs. :0)

Beautiful Spring card and love the cute images. Well we have had three days of sunshine but rain forecast tomorrow! My mini daffodils are in full flower, so are the grape hyacinths-the tulip and bluebell leaves are all up ready for the flowers.

What a happy spring scene. It is so wonderful to hear the birds in full song again. The daffs are out in my garden. Sorry you have had to endure the work on your sewer. That is no fun. Your card arrived today. Thank you so much. I shall look forward to opening it on the 31st xx

How fun, that did look like a great kit. You know how much I love birds and you have colored these up so cute, pretty spring flowers, and singing on how excited they are for spring. We have a set of birds here that sing every morning and I so love hearing them sing :) I like the touch with the embosses edge!

Happy spring, Leslie! No flowers here yet, but tulips and daffodils have at least poked up through the ground. So glad you can create spring beauty right in the comfort of your home while you wait for your landscaper to arrive. These singing birds are delightful!! I'm sure they must be singing about the first day of spring arriving (on the calendar, at least).
