Featuring Pink Roses for The Flower Challenge

Welcome back!  It's good to be here with my crafty friends again so soon.  Today I'm sharing a card I made for The Flower Challenge where they're asking for pink.  I can do that!

While I had my Penny Black Winsomely set out for Rich's Valentine I decided to go right ahead and keep playing with it.  This time I stamped the larger image in a soft grey and watercolored with a combination of Stampin' Up inks and Tombow markers.  One of the card bases I made up with Jill's Sketch #4 made for a quick card design.

After coloring I cut by hand, then turned the flower cluster face down on a foam pad and used an Empressor rolling ball embossing tool to slightly round the cluster.  Added bits of foam tape under the rounded parts.  It's amazing how this small process improves the look of a hand cut image... when I can remember to do it.

I ink blended the sentiment and the panel inside the arch, and added some stamped splatters.  Before I adhered the flowers to the card I splattered with white acrylic paint.  I really don't know what's going wrong with my splatters lately, but it appears as though I dropped a paint can nearby.

The Flower Challenge #99 -- Feature the color pink
Penny Black Saturday Challenge -- Optional use a heart

WOW fabulous card, absolutely beautiful flowers and great background design-love all the splatters-I never have a good result with splatters, tried all sorts of brushes and end up with more surrounding the card than on it!!! lol.

Oh Leslie, this is absolutely GORGEOUS!! The roses just couldn't be any prettier (and the splatter looks fine to me!) and I love how they POP against the yellow arch! The sketch is definitely recognizable as a Jill Foster and I love it! Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL card Leslie and thanks so much for sharing it with us at The Flower Challenge!! Hugs. :0)

Oh no, the spatters are supposed to be random, and they add so much, Leslie! This is just wonderful, and I'm amazed that you fussy cut it out, what patience! All in all a lovely lovely card. You know I think the bit of yellow sponged is fabulous!

You really do know how add just a little bit extra to your cards, Leslie - I have not heard of that Empressor but am surely impressed with the wonderful results!
Jill's sketch worked its charm as does this pretty embossing - and the yellow with pink just makes me smile! Thanks so much for sending it to The Flower Challenge!

Splatters remain out of my control, Leslie! Your roses are gorgeous! I received this set this week and I have to say the large design is intimidating. I need to study your coloring and give it a go! I love the red and yellow together and your splatters, both the stamped and the paint. A gorgeous card, my friend!

This is stunning! You have some mad cutting skills my friend! I love the texture you've added with the ef and the ink splatters. I hardly ever think to add paint splatters and I do love the look of them so much. Beautifully done, Leslie!

Once again, you have knocked my socks off with your design, coloring and creativeness. But I also enjoy the blog post too. I love hearing how you came up with the idea and the finished product. That was a lot of fussy cutting, but so worth it. Best wishes as I think this is a winner.

This is such a work of art, Leslie! I love your painting and the e/f texture. The schplatters in the archway and the way you blended the sediment are wonderful. As for the white schplatters, I did big clumps on my last one, too! What's happening on the west coast?! Actually, speaking of, I've noticed that you have been getting lots of stormy weather up there. I hope the sunny days arrive soon! Hugs, Darnell

Such a pretty card! Who doesn't love beautiful flowers colored in pink! I admire you fussing cutting them out. My hands don't work that well anymore. Your coloring is gorgeous as usual. I always get some large splatters which is why I probably don't do it much! Thanks for sharing your beautiful card. Have a great week!

Oh, Leslie! Obviously your coloring is magnificent. But what I am most smitten by is your careful placement of the flowers so that it appears they are happily invading one's home from the outside in! The white splatters surely do provide that feeling of morning's dew, or wind-filled movement. Thanks so much for mentioning that "rounded" impressing of the flowers, and then using the foam tape. I'm definitely stealing that design idea! (PS you find fault with your splatters. I admire them because I am splatter challenged LOL).
