Woodland Whimsy

Hello, and happy Friday!  So close to Christmas now.  I'm ready, are you?  Cards are made, so looks like I'll pop in a time or two again before Christmas.  As time went on the cards got simpler, but I did take the time to watercolor the first one here.

I purchased the November kit from Simon Says Stamp.  My first time, but it had quite a few things in it I thought I'd use.  This card features a deer from the Woodland Whimsy stamp set on a Suzy Plantamura watercolor panel.  Watercolors were in the kit, too.  Can't say I'll be using them again, tsk tsk.  The landscape dies cover up a thank you sentiment so I could turn it into a Christmas card (an idea from one of their kit samples).  My additions are Poppystamps Stitched Landscape and Memory Box Peace Cheshire Script.

Next card uses more from the kit:  Woodland Whimsy stamp set, Ho Ho Deer Circle die, and Moda Scrap designer paper.  The stitched rectangle die is an older one of mine -- Taylored Expressions Stitched Rectangle Stacklets.  Use that set ALL the time.  I stamped around the edge of a grocer's kraft card base.  Added gloss to the deer's nose.

I'm looking forward to playing with the Woodland Whimsy stamp set again.  It's not a Christmas set, so can be used all year.  Cute stuff!  Happy holidays!

Good morning Leslie! What adorable cards you have created! I really love the first one but I think what really caught my eye was that little deer in the foreground! Super cute...Merry Christmas!

Wow! You always amaze me, Leslie! My water coloring skills are totally non-exsistant! Have never been able to master that. You make it look so easy! Love both of these cards! The deer scene is adorable. Wow!!

Oh my, love your cards today Leslie. The woodland whimsy card is so adorable, love that you added the deer, and your card is beautifully coloured. The added stitched landscape and 'peace' is a great idea to make this a Christmas card, not sure I would of thought of that!! Your second card is just so adorable. The deer is so sweet and really like the way you stamped around the edges, just gives it that little extra! So happy for you that you have finished your cards, that is cutting it pretty close! Now you can relax and enjoy the Holidays. I'm actually working on Christmas cards now for next year - trying to get ahead! I wish you and Rich and Merry Christmas!

Both cards are so cute. Love Rudolph and glad that you will be able to use the set around the year. I look at things like that before I purchase a stamp set. I hate buying for just one thing.

You are so good - still putting all cards in this busy season! Both cards are so cute - of course, I'm partial to the red nose one! I have purchased a few of his monthly stamps and like his sets. Love your watercoloring. I don't do much of that. Maybe in the New Year. My first task in the New Year is to clean up my craft room. Right now it looks like a tornado went through!

Love the watercolor panel and like the way you used the deer with it, so cool they came with an idea to make it into a Christmas card, you say you won't be using the watercolors anymore, were they not to your liking? Looking at the end results it looks fantastic! Love the peace sentiment, this is such a peaceful scene!
Your deer in the circle is too cute, love the papers you used with this, all works together perfectly! That set looks like you will be able to use it year around :)

Two more super-wonderful cards! I just love your coloring, no matter what medium you use! I'm glad you are ready for Christmas. We are ready, too. We just got back from Chicago after celebrating with our daughter and her family.

I "had" to purchase this kit too because it contained so many great elements, including the darling stamp set with the cute critters LOL! Both of your cards are so festive, I especially like the one with the deer added to the snowy watercolored scene.

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and that 2020 brings you much joy and many blessings!

Fabulous holiday cards!! The deer is the cutest ever...I eyeballed this kit myself when it came out as the deer right away caught my eye! Both cards are so creative and full of cuteness, I just love those deer!!
