Hop into Spring!

Hi there!  I've been playing with bunnies and feeling like a kid again.  Oddly, I don't remember my kid toys being as much fun as my grown up toys.  Could it be that I'm more appreciative in my (ahem) maturity?

I'm using Spellbinders' March Small Die of the Month, called "Hop into Spring", and, gosh, I'm sure ready for that.  Bunnies and flowers and twiggy branches, a happy sentiment.  I've started with Easter colors and a bunny in a garden patch.  Small tulips on tall stems, green plants with flowers nestled in, a few carrots...

Then I thought I'd try some soft, muted colors.  Truthfully, I started out to make a baby card, but after cutting the two bunnies I was afraid I'd be locked into twins so I went with Easter instead.  Not your usual Easter colors, but I like it.  As you can see, I cut the bunnies in a white panel over designer paper, then fit the bunny outlines back into it.  It's so super easy I could do this over and over, and they're actually my favorite of the bunnies.  Add an eye dot and it brings them to life.  Imagine them with different colors and patterns.  I'm definitely going to make a baby card.

Finally, I set the bunnies aside, but used the same soft colors to make a spring card with a white twig wreath.  If you color the branches brown and leave the tips white they resemble pussy willows.  Yes, I did that, but it's another card for another day... along with the baby card I'm going to make.

The stamped sentiments are from my stash, but all dies and more are in the "Hop into Spring" set.  You can find information about the Small Die of the Month club here and see a nice variety of samples with this set.  It's adorable!

Thank you for your time.  Wishing you a very happy day!

I totally agree with Glenda, you are on a roll. Oh my I love these cards, the bunny cards are so sweet. My fav is the first one, just love the bright white background and all your little added details and fun spring colours, makes me smile! Cool idea for the second card love the outcome of how it looks laid over your dp! and then the 3rd, just an overall happy spring card, those pink flowers makes this pop! I just went to look at Spellbinders for this set and it will cost me almost $40CAD to have this shipped to me- insane!
So I guess I will just have to swoon over your cards from the SB small die of the month when you post them! Have a Happy Day Leslie, always love when you share!

Your second card is beautiful and elegant with the gorgeous patterned papers and soft colours. A bunny card that is elegant??!! Yep, your design is amazing.

And love the last card with the mix of papers and the beautiful layered wreaths. Pussy willows ... I remember picking them when I was a child ... they used to grow in the lane behind where I lived. Those were the days and a great childhood memeory. xx

You rocked the dies today, Leslie, and I'm sure you sold a lot and should get a commission! Whether it's snowmen or bunnies, you make the most beautiful critter cards! I love the wreath, too, and am learning a lot from you about how to effectively use pp. You know, now that I bought a bunch of ODB because of you, I need the ideas! Thank you!! Hugs, Darnell

Spring is here! I know it by the showings of your heart on these three beauties, Leslie! The inlaid work on your first Bunny "be happy" card is gorgeous! Those soft colors bring a sweetness and joy especially needed after a difficult winter. Love the little carrots and flowers nestled behind your greenery (so imaginative!) The white on white inlaid bunnies, against the magnificent designer paper are wonderful! What a great way of using the dies and featuring several techniques at one time! Beautiful! Your happy spring wreath is so elegant against those papers and the darling posies! Beautiful cards, Leslie. Speaking of Spring and Winter... after taking some photos of the new growth on our massive Staghorn ferns, and the azaleas the day before yesterday - with temps in the 80s - and our May-June caladiums emerging so early, we awakened to a frost today, and will be freezing in the morning tomorrow. What is with this weather? We protected my potted plants lightly with some sheets and then took the rest of the ornamental coverings out to the vegetable garden where the peppers, pole beans, black eyes (a summer crop usually), and blue lake bush beans have all popped up - some as tall as a foot. So we used stakes and covered them as best as we could, but many will have to fight on their own without protection. Jack planted a month early because of the unseasonably hot weather - not so much to get an early crop, but because we have not had enough cold weather to diminish the bug population, and that means that the bugs will be feasting on the veggies earlier than usual.

It's always fun coming to your blog and seeing what's going on in the Leslie-Rich-Wally-Lulu household! hugs, de

Three beautiful, adorable, fun, Springtime designed cards, Leslie. I loved your Spring colors and bunny and garden die cut images on your 1st card. Also your more neutral colors for your 2nd and 3rd cards and use of DSP. You sure have shown the versatility of your new set. TFS your cards and the link, my friend. Hugs..Nancy

Fantastic card designs and I am loving your bunnies. If I had them in my stash I would be playing with them as well as they are the cutest little guys. The first card is such a cute scene one. I love the various papers you added to your designs in the two lower cards to make them look fantastic too. You always do such beautiful work!

What an adorable set of cards! I fell in love with your bunnies. Easter is my favorite time of year. These bunnies are so happy to be in your cards! You are right - they would make a great baby card! Just looking at your spring card makes me feel better. It is so cold and nasty here but just changing the clocks this weekend is a good sign. Love the wreath.

Oh my goodness, I see the first one and I say Awww, love the grey outline the little pink touches and the most darling garden you have set up..... Then I scroll down and oh my goodness I totally love the patterns under the rabbits and the sweet flowers that go with it, outstanding. Your lovely wreath to top it off is wonderful too, the sweet little flowers and tag is such a sweet touch. Now you have me excited to see the next cards with this die colored.

I had a stuffed bunny as a kid that was white at first purchase. My mom had to wash it lots. ha ha These springy cards are wonderful. That bunny die is super cute and I like the paper you used for the die cut on the one. All three springy and fresh.

Oh my, they are all gorgeous, but that second bunny design with the patterned paper peeking through them is aMAYzing! It looks so elegant Leslie.

Even though I'm not much of a cute card lover, I do love yours! They are so neat and colorful and beautifully designed. The wreath is especially impressive because it looks like a lot of busy work! The result is so pretty. I love how you created the bunny card with the pretty paper.

Three beautiful cards to highlight that adorable bunny! I love them all! The wreath stands out bright and pretty in white against the soft patterned paper. I really like that and the cluster of fuchsia flowers are so so pretty! The pair of bunny silhouettes and so cute and I love the way your elements blend. Are those enamel drops you added? They are the perfect addition. But that bunny on the first card looks ready to hop right into
some fun, I love that one BEST! Great designs, Leslie.
