Spellbinders January Small Die of the Month

Hi there!  Keeping the crafting momentum going...  Do the holidays knock the stuffing out of you the way they do me?  It was a longer than anticipated Christmas break, but I'm happily getting back into the swing of card crafting.  Today I have cards for kids courtesy of the January Spellbinders Small Die of the Month.

Have you ever looked at their Small Die of the Month Club?  It's a sweet deal, actually.  Every month a new set of small dies with big possibilities.  As I investigated and became more familiar with the club I was surprised that it's never just one die, but a whole set of dies the perfect size for cards.  If you don't want the particular set of the month, you have the option to click and skip.  More information here.

First, a birthday card:

As it happens, this die set tickled my fancy, considering the three little girls next door and many friends wanting cards for kids.  It was like playing with paper dolls.  Do they still make paper dolls?

My second card is for a kids' Christmas.  It's never too soon to get started, is it?  I know... groan... we just finished!  With a little change here and there, the Christmas card could be turned into a Valentine.

Peace on earth... it's a nice thought.  These kids aren't exactly dressed for the cold weather, but when they woke up and found the landscape had changed overnight into a winter wonderland they got all excited and ran outside.  Popped their heads back through the window -- created by nesting Spellbinders Scored and Pierced Rectangles.   Overhead the window blind has a ruffled edge made with the girl's skirt ruffle x 3, and a blind pull courtesy of the balloon string.  Fun stuff!

Many thanks to Spellbinders for giving me the opportunity to play with this month's adorable Small Die of the Month set, and thank you for helping me start off a new year of crafting.  Have a happy day!

Well now, this is super cute and brings back many memories of a time long ago! Paper dolls were a big deal for me and my sisters and not quite as expensive as other toys back then. I had a whole box of dolls and clothes. I just know your neighbors will be thrilled to receive these cards!

Your neighbor girls will be thrilled with these! Super cute and yes, they do remind me of paper dolls! I LOVED paper dolls! Still have fond memories of hours spent playing with them, especially the Betsy McCall dolls that came in a magazine! Thanks for the walk down memory lane!

Oh how sweet and adorable are these! I remember playing with paper dolls, my friend and I use to sit for hours playing with these, those were the days! I love the scenes you created for both. I must say the faces that they have created are so sweet, as you know sometimes faces on these types can be no so friendly looking (if you know what I mean). Never too late to start on next years Christmas cards, good for you. I have looked into the Spellbinders small die before and it would cost me for the $12.50 pkg close to $50 CAD with shipping and exchange - crazy! Thanks for making me smile this morning. Enjoying my last day off before back to work on Monday. I must say the 2 weeks have flown. Have a wonderful day Leslie.

Fabulous paper dolls dies really cute and you could cut them out of something sturdy and add a change of clothes to put inside the card too-love the scene on the second one.My grandaughters got a thick book of these paper dolls and loads of clothes a couple of years ago but some were really flimsy

Such cute cards - I love the dies! Brought back a lot of memories sitting with my cousins on my Nanny's porch in the hot summer playing with paper dolls. Today most of them are magnetic. Your birthday card is so cute with the popsicle paper and heart balloon. It's always good to have some kids cards around. I'm still exhausted from Christmas and trying to get the house back to normal. LOL!!

Well butter my buns ... aren't these cards just the CUTEST!!! I love them both and you sure know how to color them so realistically! Love them both! Yep ... time to get back on track with card making for my April show (or I won't have nearly enough for those country club ladies!). Spent the morning with 1st cousins and afternoon with Mom today. Took cards down to share so I am REALLY LOW in some categories now! LOL Thanks for BEAUTIFUL, HAPPY inspiration! HUGS

What a smile you've left on my face! These cards are so sweet, Leslie. I am pretty sure the little girls next door will love anything you create for them. And you're right, they do remind me of paper dolls. Seriously, don't you just love the Small Die of the Month Club? I've been considering ordering the Large Die of the Month Club too. Have you seen the Card kit for this month - it's so nice. See there I go... *laughing* I have more than enough to keep me busy.

I'm taking a January break right now. The holidays do knock my socks off - or is it that I'm just getting older *winking*

Love your cards today!
Hugs,
Susie ~
