My Sweetie's Birthday Card

Hi there!  Today's card is totally masculine and all made with dies (other than the sentiment).  It's for my husband's birthday and, rather than making something cute or funny this year, I decided to make a card somewhat reminiscent of our travels and camping this past summer.  A little travel trailer die would be cute, but how often would I use it?  Instead, I splurged on some new dies and chose something I could use for many occasions.

My Rich loves old cars, especially trucks, and he's a little bit fascinated by this type of die cut card.  You know... I always feel like a kid when I make one of these, and that's not a bad thing.  Remember construction paper, and the paste that the kid sitting next to you liked to eat, the scissors that would cut paper, but not your fingers?  Think back... that was a long time ago!

Anyway... I think it's pretty apparent how I put it together, so I'll simply share the die list:

Memory Box Pine Forest Frame
Impression Obsession Classic Truck
Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes
Sizzix Primitive Stars

I did some Copic coloring and sponged edges, but tried to keep it simple.  The star is there because I didn't care for my placement of the sentiment and it needed a filler for balance.  Actually, I think it might have been just the right thing to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping in to visit today.  I enjoy this sharing thing of ours and I hope you do, too.  Have a happy day!

Perfect and fabulous for your 'outdoor' man! Love the scene you've created and the touches of coloring are of course perfect! I thought star stood for the stars in the sky when you spent the nights out in the wood with nature. Great job! May 2019 adventures will bring you eastbound ... like Michigan/Ohio area! LOL hint hint! Wouldn't that be awesome to link up!! Happy Birthday to hubby and many, many more!

I don't have a truck die but I do have a very old SU set with a truck just like that one so, I'm CASEing this card and Pinning it too, on it goes to my Masculine board.
Wish Rich a very happy birthday Leslie.
Thank you for sharing.

What a great birthday card! The sentiment is so true! I'm sure your husband will love it! I know Joe would like the truck. He had one when we first got married for the garage and I remember bouncing up and down. It was fun until I got pregnant! LOL!

I absolutely adore this card! it's prefect and so is the star! Rich is your star and worthy of such a nice birthday card and I'm sure he loved it! I love the paper. I do have one question. What die did you use for the first stitched rectangle frame. It would be the third one in. You did a wonderful job on that truck - love the shading around the fenders. What guy wouldn't want a truck that looked like that?!

Happy belated BD to Rich! Are you settling in now that summer is over, or are you thinking of a couple more trips? I love the new RV!!
