The First of May

Hello friends!  Incredibly, it's the first day of May and spring is making an effort in fits and starts.  I promise I'll have some stamping soon, but, as you know, we were gone camping for a few days and I've been trying to catch up ever since.  Just to stay in touch I'll share a few miscellaneous pics of some of the things that have been keeping me busy.

The first is this month's calendar picture, our sweet Wally and LuLu.

As for that camping trip, well, someone was having fun it's plain to see.  We went to a nearby lake resort and had the place almost to ourselves.  Wide open spaces for running:

A lake for splashing and swimming:

A place to rest and unwind and enjoy the view:

A small, but clean and cozy home away from home:

On the fourth day we came home and, gee, it looked so pretty you'd wonder why we ever wanted to leave in the first place, but it's nice to get away.  We came home and appreciated it all the more.

It's not all work and no play at home.  Wally melted on the deck for a while.  He looks like a tired old dog in this photo, but don't let that fool you.  I wish we could bottle and sell the energy he has.

LuLu always looks like a puppy to me.  Maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Really, I'll come back Friday with some colored flowers on a card.  I just need to give myself this little bit of time.  Till then, stay well, and I'll be making the blog rounds to visit you.  I missed a lot in a very few days!

So nice that you shared these lovely photos of your good time camping and restful return. Love those pups! No worries about blog hopping, we've had fun keeping up with you!

My husband and I were boating on our community lake bright and early this morning. It was so peaceful and quiet. Now I need a nap like Wally!

What great and fun pictures! Thanks for sharing. Everything looks so nice in bloom. We took a bunch of leaves, etc. to the PennState Ext. today as something is killing all our shrubs and plants. One day they were fine and the next they are dying. I'm glad you liked my little kitten vase. I have very few things of my Grandmother's on my father's side but that is one thing I treasure.

Its always so fun to see your photos of the pups and your beautiful surroundings, Leslie! We are hoping to visit Oregon soon and wonder what part of the coast you would recommend? We will have a few days to explore. I sure wish we had a little camper so we could take Beulah along!

That picture of Wally on the deck does look like he melted into it, very relaxed :) It always takes a bit of time to catch up after being away. Thanks for sharing your trip!

I'm so glad to hear that you have already been out camping - enjoying the outdoors. Isn't it fabulous this time of year when everything is blooming and the smell of the spring time air - love it! Looks like everyone is having a great time especially your babies. I love when you post them. Your garden looks amazing already! My hosta's are just popping up through the earth, but it doesn't take long for them to grow once they start. As I'm sitting here commenting I hear a wren in our backyard just a singing. :). Looking forward to your friday's post. Enjoy the rest of your week Leslie.
