Spice it Up with Purple

Hello, friends!  Monday again and counting down to Thanksgiving here in the US.  This has always been a favorite week because, not only did it mean special time with family, but it was extra days off work.  Always a rush getting ready, but since retirement I have time to prepare so it's even better!

I do not have a Thanksgiving card today, but it's somewhat food related.  I've colored some spiced up oranges all tumbled up with cranberries and Christmas baubles.

The stamp set is "Spice it Up" from a 2015 Power Poppy Christmas release.  The bright colors make it festive and the sentiment is fun.  Just rummaging through my Power Poppy stamps looking for a sentiment and I felt compelled to stop and color.  I did use the sentiments from this set on some other cards, but the images are so pretty...

Coloring is Copics on Neenah 110 lb, then cut a pretty border with an oft used favorite Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One.  A scrap of Graphic 45 paper, sequins, and baker's twine -- an easy finish.

I'm sure I'll be back on Wednesday, but if I don't "see" you I'd like to wish a happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.  Take care!

Fabulous! Love the colors - so non-traditional. Your stitching is perfect, as always. I can just smell those oranges with cloves - we made those when I was in grade school. I still love that smell!

I LOVE the color purple...and I love how you've used the bright orange with it. This is such a vibrant card, in every way.

Gorgeous colored spiced oranges, Leslie. I love how you used your pretty purple designer paper and die cut border. The perfect sentiment too. You reminded me that I made spiced oranges a few times years ago when the kids were still home. We all loved the festive Christmasy smell:-) Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family my friend. Hugs

Happy Thanksgiving week to you & yours! Let the baking & yummy smells in the kitchen begin! Daughter is cooking but I'm making the pies, crisps & family recipe rolls. Gobble ... Gobble!

To think you spiced up each orange with hand-colored purple spiced pics! You have my undying admiration for being able to control your coloring so well LOL Your purple theme combined with the other bright colors bring out the happy "scents" - I can smell the cloves all the way in Florida! It's a beautiful card, Leslie. Happy Thanksgiving! hugs, de

I really don't know what else to say about your card. Looks like everyone has said it all. Jaw dropping gorgeous, Leslie - your colours are so vibrant, love that you used purple (one of my fav colours) and paired up with the vibrant orange for those yummy smelling spiced oranges - an overall fabulous card! Your stitching is always so straight and perfect, love the die cut bottom and that bit of twine to finish it off! I just stamped this image off myself last week but haven't gotten around to using it yet. Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family & friends - (just in case you don't make it back here before the holidays).

This is definitely a stand out card - look at all those great colors and I love the die! Yes, it is nice to be retired around the holidays, but they still sneak up on me! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family!

Oh I can smell it right now, I remember the first time I put cloves into oranges, my daughter was in girl scouts and it was one of the projects. The ribbon wrapping them is so pretty and your coloring is just outstanding, love the border you used with it, pretty paper peeking out and that sentiment is just perfect!

Oh, the details and coloring are rich and so so pretty! The border and patterned paper are lovely choices too. I shy away from purple but seeing how much it adds here I think I am inspired to try it more often!
And did I correctly notice REAL stitching?
Have a wonderful holiday and family time, Leslie!
