Twofer Card Challenge #21: Sweets

It's time for another Twofer Card Challenge and Sweets is the theme!  That opens up all kinds of possibilities from lollipops to petit fours.

Remember, it's cards only,  two different designs, two different occasions, and must use a stamp, stencil, or die.  No digital stamps for the prompt image, please.  See the Twofer Blog where Darnell has been very thorough in explaining the concept on her Rules, Definitions, and FAQ pages.

The stamp I used for the Sweets theme is an older, well-used Stampendous Tiers of Treats.  I've made a birthday card and a thank you card.

Here's the whole stamp for the birthday card, combined with stitched dies and glittery sprinkles.  I stamped a Poppystamps sentiment below.

For the thank you card I taped off everything below the strawberries tier before I inked up the stamp.  Then pulled off the inky tape and stamped on my paper.  Voila!  Strawberries only!

Hop over to the Twofer Blog for samples by the team and our talented guest designers.  You'll get some great ideas!  Enjoy your day!

Dies, birthday card:  Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Stackables, Taylored Expressions Stitched Rectangle Stacklets, Memory Box Banner Parade
Dies, thank you card:  Taylored Expressions Ric Rac Borders, MFT Die-namics Wild Greenery

  1. Well I have to say you have done it again. I have in the past used the taping method but for some reason I haven't used that for a long time. Thanks for reminding me. I love the ribbon die cut on the first card and the ric rac on the second one. Not sure if it is actual fabric or another die cut but I still love it! Have a great upcoming weekend!

These are great and how smart/creative of you to use just the top part of the stamp for the second card...maybe, maybe someday I will smart enough to figure out a twofer lol!! You certainly have some nice stamps in your stock and I sure enjoy seeing all your fabulous cards!! Today is our last day of nice weather, then comes rain and the 50's and Northern Michigan is to get some snow, they can ave it lol!!

  7. These are so gorgeous and I think I see winners here. I love how you just used the plate of strawberries for the one card. That was clever use of two ways of using that design.

  9. Leslie, these cards are fantastically sweet! Those little cakes and strawberries look delicious, and your coloring of them all is just delightful. Makes me want to pop round to the Danish bakery here in town for a few of their petit fours! The green papers really make your images stand out, and I love the little 'candy' sprinkles. This is duo of delights, if you ask me! LOVE these sweeties!! Sending hugs! Bev

  10. HI, Leslie (soon to be birthday girl1) - I always marvel at the way you use part of a stamp, instead of the whole thing, to make an utterly different creation! The are both not only darling, but beautiful (with your favorite rick-rack border die. Wishing you a great day! hugs, de

  11. Very sweet! No pun intended. LOL! These are both so delicious. Great way to use your stamp for something a little different. I love the simplicity of just the strawberries, a bit of rick-rack and a splatter of leaves. Fabulous.

  13. Leslie these are simply charming! I like the clean designs on both of them. That ribbon streamer floating by the tower of sweet treats adds to the festive birthday theme. And I like the mix of fonts on the other cards sentiment. Thanks so much for your sweet comment today, it means the world to me. So happy to be joining you girls this month!

  20. I always look forward to when you do your Two-fer challenge, as you always amaze me with what you come up with. Leslie, these are both fabulous cards, love how you used the die cut and kept it all together for your first card, the ribbon die cut and sprinkles make it such a happy card for a birthday. The second card is very CAS - love it, and love that you masked off the treat tray and only used the top portion - very cleaver! Sorry for late commenting, was supposed to be off yesterday, but had to work and worked all day today as well. Good thing we have Monday off to celebrate Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing Leslie, I always look forward to your posts!

  23. I love the artwork on that stamp, and you used it beautifully on both of your cards, Leslie! Those bright colors along with the streamers and confetti make for a fun party! Selectively stamping the strawberries alone was a clever way to use that stamp, and a sweet way to say thank you to a friend!

  24. First of all, I love that sweet stamp as a whole tier and have never seen it before! What a fun stamp for anyone enjoying their day! Love the streamer and colorful bling you added! And your CASlicious card truly deserves that made-up word! It's brilliant to have just used the top layer! Amazing coloring, as always!! Hugs, Darnell

  25. Hi Leslie,
Gotta say I love these sweet and cute cards! You know how I love multi layers and colors and sparkle so it may surprise you that the second card is my very favorite. You nailed CAS on that one and it's a delight to see how you used the images differently by masking.

  26. Your tiered plates of sweet treats is simply scrumptious, Lesley ... the framing puts me in mind of delicate doilies ... a necessity for a strawberry tea! Great masking to display that single plate of luscious strawberries ... it's so fresh and CAS ... and yummy! Hugs, Anita :)
