Sprinkle & Grow

Hi there!  Another card today -- a messy bouquet in a watering can.  I sure struggled with this one.  Ordinarily I cut everything from 110 lb white and then add color, but I thought this time I'd try and use up colored CS scraps.  Turns out it wasn't so easy with these skinny little stems and lighter weight cardstock.  Then trying to tuck them into the watering can... geez.  I'm sure I somehow made it more difficult than it needed to be, but I do have a knack for that.

Ultimately I guess it's kind of cute (?).  I won't go on about how I ended up with these colors and papers.  Cards have a mind of their own sometimes, don't they?  You go one way, they go the other.  Or is it just me?

The colored scraps are all from my sorted bags of Bazzill bits.  I added texture to the white panels with two different embossing folders.  The flowers are touched with Diamond Stickles which doesn't show up well in the photo, but you  can see all the texture from the cardstock and embossing in the photo below.

No challenges today.  Just playing a little before rushing off to do a bazillion other things.  Hope you have a happy day!

Stamps:  Gerda Steiner All Cats  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White, scraps of textured cardstock, Forever Friends Kraft Notes designer paper (old)  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black for sentiment  Dies:  Spellbinders Sprinkle & Grow, Simon Says Stamp Pretty Bows, Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders  Other:  Diamond Stickles, Sizzix Flowers EF, SU Subtle EF

  1. Such a sweet little bouquet of happiness, tucked inside that watering can! I love working with textured cardstock, but some of it can be more flimsy than others. The look is great though! Your colors coordinate so well with the pretty design paper. I like the added texture of the embossed flowers too. Super cute, Leslie!

  2. cute card. Sure is funny how we try to use up all those little scraps of paper we set aside for "one day"... You did a good job, couldn't tell if you hadn't mentioned it. Have a great day and keep fussy cutting BIG GRIN

  7. This is such a sweet card! I love putting flowers in a watering can. Unfortunately, our extreme heat killed ours pretty fast. Love the little petals in the background and the mix of DSP. You would never know you had trouble as they look perfect!

  8. This might have been a real fiddle to do, but it has turned out beautifully. I think I have the same knack as you. Namely making things more complicated than they need be. This turned out great in the end with the added bonus of using up some scraps xx

  9. I'm sorry this one gave you some struggle, Leslie. I think it's adorable! I love the embossed flowers on the small panel, and your tucked in flowers are so pretty! I tell my dentist husband that sometimes card making is like pulling teeth! Your sweet card is making me smile today.

  10. Great minds think a like :). I just finished making a bouquet and put it in the basket, using scraps of cardstock too. I won't be sharing it for a little while it is for my friends birthday next month :) I love the bouquet you made and the cute watering can you have for it, pretty embossed flowers for the background, and love how it is finished off with that bow!

  12. Leslie, all of these little flowers are just the perfect size for your sweet little watering can!
So much pretty going on here: the texture, the embossing - especially love that you embossed that bigger panel that has the 'kisses' all around the edge!
