Hi there! How about another Valentine today? I believe I mentioned I was having a lot of fun with them. However, by the time I was done I was breathing a sigh of relief. It's hard for me to stay on one card-making subject for too long.
This card was made with a Marianne's Designs stamp and die set called Typewriter. I adore the set. It has lots of sentiments and the dies are simple. It's an oldie, but I've only used it once before (if memory serves correctly). The little envelope is from the Cottage Cutz Puppy Love Letter die set I used recently.
The framing mats are a combination of unrelated dies which I've listed in the recipe. They appear as though they belong together. Sweet and pretty designer papers. You know how I love my papers and the Valentines have prompted me to have a nice stroll through my paper cupboard.
I'll be moving on from the Valentines now, but I've sure enjoyed them. We're all just crafters having a good time, right?

This is ADORABLE! And it also reminds me that I have a typewriter die that I haven't used in ages! You've inspired me to get it out!

Leslie, How you achieved the dimension in your paper note, and the cute papers used for the typewriter - and all the tee-tiny hearts and elements! OH SO CUTE! Did you use typewriters in your day? I started out in 6th grade with a huge old clunker my dad bought used from GTE's warehouse sale back in the early early 60s. I really enjoyed it. Not sure WHY he bought it for me, but he did. That's a happy memory I'd forgotten about. He probably purchased it as a toy, but I used it for my school work all the way through high school. But mine was not pink. It was a huge black REMINGTON LOL. Anyway, I did not mean to hijack the pretty sweetness of your creation. Your cards usually have a way of triggering memories for me - and for that... ReplyDeleteYour amazing layering draws the attention to this cute machine, that brings sweet memories of my teen years when I learned to use it, I was in the 7th. grade and in the class, we had to use a "keyboard cover" which consisted of a piece of black fabric with a string that you put around your neck and another string that you tied to the back of the typewriter, LOL!! Now you can imagine how long ago I was in the 7th. grade, LOL!!
IM wondering if any of your followers are in their late 60's, early 70's that learned to typewrite the same way?

Your touch with the gems on the hearts in the background is a great finishing to the card! I have an old typewriter stamp and have always stamped in black, I may have to try other colors :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a great typewriter. I love the papers and fabulous layers. I can relate to having trouble staying on one card subject for too long. I think that is why I make Christmas cards all year so I can break them up.
