A Flower for a Friend

Hi everyone!  I'm back to flowers today with another card using the Lisa Horton Peony Rose Stem.  It's an embossing folder with matching die.  One of these days I'll use it without the die, but for now I'm enjoying the novelty of the combo.

I've included a decorative frame and some pretty designer paper with this card.  I don't know who makes the frame as it was in a package of die cuts a friend gifted to me.  However, I can say the paper is Zoju Forest Dream and the sentiment is an oldie by JustRite.  I used Distress Oxide inks and an eye shadow brush for coloring.  My die was positioned a little too low when I cut this, but that's my fault.  It actually cuts quite closely when done right (ahem).

Wishing a happy birthday to the sweet friend I sent this to.  She received it a few days early, but may as well start the celebration ahead of time and keep it going for a good long while.

Let's do this again soon, okay?  Take care of yourselves and enjoy your day!

Stamps:  Retired JustRite sentiment  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White, Zoju Forest Dream designer paper  Ink:  Distress Oxides for coloring, SU Always Artichoke for sentiment  Other:  Lisa Horton Peony Rose Stem 3D embossing folder with die, circle die, frame die (name unknown)

Thank you so much for your kind words and your wishes, we just have to deal with what life throws at us I suppose but it helps to know others are thinking of you.. I hope all is well with you, Rich and the fur babies? I struggle to type but I hope to visit again soon. Stay safe

  13. It’s good to see a happy beautiful birthday card. Lately I have been making get well and sympathy cards. I love the easiness of the dye that matches a stencil. An easy way to make a fine looking card.

  18. Leslie, I love the way you sponged this gorgeous flower, I forget that embossed flowers can be inked up to make them look gorgeous like this one!!
And the way you framed it with the beautiful pattern paper behind makes them even more lovely.
The font on the sentiment fits this card perfectly.
Stay healthy and safe, my friend.

  19. So beautiful, Leslie! I sure do love that the embossing folder has a coordinating die. I have nothing like that. I'm really trying not to buy anything new, and as a result I don't have the "new-fangled" things! LOL!

  20. Pretty card Leslie! LOVE the background paper and the gorgeous framing of your embossed and die-flowers. So cool to have embossing with a die-cut ... don't have any of those. :) Need to shop soon! :) The flowers are so beautiful with the colouring and the texture from the embossing. It looks so dimensional. I know your friend is admiring your card and will for a long time. xx

  24. It’s beautiful, sooner later I know I am going to buy some of those die and embossing combos. Love what you have done with it. I always get annoyed with myself when I don’t get matching dies lined up too, but actually I didn’t notice until you pointed it out xx
