New From Power Poppy -- Forest Fellas

Are you ready for five more new Power Poppy stamp sets?  Today we introduce Collection Two of the Quiet Christmas release, starting with Forest Fellas.

Love, love, love this set of woodsy critters all dressed up for winter!  Marcella has made them big enough for impact, yet small enough for us to enjoy designing a card around them.  They're available as digital downloads, too, but today I'm representing the physical stamp set so you can see the actual size on an A2 card.

This is the most laid back bear I've ever seen... one paw in his pocket, the other wrapped around a warm mug of coffee/cocoa/tea/cider/toddy -- whatever suits your fancy.  Maybe it's tea laced with honey?  Because he's such an easy going fella I chose to use the "stay cool" sentiment with him.  It doesn't even have to be a Christmas card.  I'll use this set all winter and then some.  By the way, I love that he's wearing a watch, too.  It's just so much fun!

My cool guy is colored with Copics and hanging out on plaid and wood grain.  I added a little sparkle around him, but otherwise it's a simple image panel.   On future cards I'll use some of the accent stamps to create more of a scene.

If you haven't been there yet, be sure to visit the Power Poppy Blog to see Marcella's post and more uber-cute samples.  Lots more to come.  Stay cool!

  1. Ack! I love this card Leslie! You made the 'cool guy' look amazing with your colouring! Love everything about this, so rustic, fantastic papers and layout! And your right, you could use this image more than just a Christmas card, a great masculine card. Love this set, can't wait to see the next critter you decide to colour! Thanks for sharing today, looking forward to the rest of the release! Keep well!

  10. He certainly is a laid-back critter, for sure. I can see him reclining in a La-Z-Boy watching a little TV. :) You've colored him amazingly, of course, and finished off the card perfectly.

  17. Oh, Leslie, I LOVE your sweet bear and agree that he is just oh so charming, relaxed, and yet quite the dapper fella with the watch. Hehe! Your coloring is fabulous, and I hesitated about coloring mine since black bears are so friendly (for bears). Just love his scarf too and the wonderful papers and layout! Totally charming and delightful, my friend. You always delight us with everything you do. I agree with Paula about being eager to see what you do with the other "fellas" in this set!! Hugs and love! xoxo

  27. So many times I've passed up a stamp or die, because they didn't appeal to me. But then I stop by and see the cutest card made with one or the other. This is just the case with this bear!! I love everything about this card. And he put a smile on my face.
