Cat Paradise

Hi, there!  I'm back for a spell and I hope I can stay for a while.  There really are so many things to do.  I've been coloring quite a lot, but can't share it yet.  Think "Power Poppy" and "gorgeous".  That's all I'm saying for now.

Today's card is a tear-apart-and-re-do of one I made in January.  It's been sitting in my card box ever since and was never photographed, so it's like brand new, right?  I kept skipping over when it came to mailing because it felt and looked too bulky.  The entire image panel with frame and heart is part of the original card.  It was popped up on a busy background.  The new base is sleeker -- more white, simpler designer paper.  Much better.

The Rubbernecker 3 Cats in Tree were stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Copics.  Cut with the matching die and arranged on a smooshed watercolor background.  You can Google "ink smooshing" videos.  Very easy and fun.

I'll wrap this up and see what more I can accomplish today.  Got a list as long as my arm, sheesh.  Take care and give yourself a hug from me!

Stamps:  Rubbernecker 3 Cats in Tree with matching die, Rubbernecker Day in Paradise sentiment  Paper:  Arches 140 lb hot press watercolor for cats, Strathmore mixed media vellum surface for smooshed background, grocer's kraft for frame, SU Whisper White base, My Mind's Eye Notable designer paper  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, smooshed DOX Salty Ocean  Coloring:  Copics  Other:  Hero Arts Wood Frame, Paper Smooches Hearts, SU Subtle embossing folder used on card base (barely noticeable in the photo)

  1. Oh my goodness I love your card today Leslie. So whimsical and tastefully done as all your cards are. Love everything about this, the cats, tree, your awesome smooshing background, and your new base. So glad you were able to re-do the card to your liking. Love the sentiment - we say this a lot at work, when someone asks how your doing - lol (well when we were at work that is). I can't wait to see what you have been colouring up for Power Poppy, as you had me at 'gorgeous'. I was just thinking of PP this week actually wondering if she was going to have another release soon. Have a fantastic day Leslie, sending hugs your way!

  6. Hello Leslie: It's awesome you are back, even if it's for a little while.
I'm a cat and dog person, we have a white 2 1/2-year-old Siberian Huskey named DeJaVu and a 2-year-old black kitty name Ivy.
This card talks to me, because Ivy loves to get on her window beds and just stare outside, she has 3, one in the bay window in our kitchen, one in my craft room and the third one on an area between my bedroom and our bathroom.
I love your smooshed sky, I must try that technique soon, and your kitties are adorable looking out into the horizon, just chilling out.
Glad to see you back after 8 days, you're right, I kept track, LOL!!
Stay healthy and safe, my friend.
    XO
    Maria.

  13. I'm all about a sleeker, more white, and simpler design, Leslie, and I think this is the cat's pajamas! (You know I couldn't resist!) The beautiful sky is just what a sky in paradise should look like! Keep well, my friend, and don't work too hard! Hugs, Darnell
