Dahlia Display

Welcome to Friday!  It's a Dahlia kind of day, I think.  It sure felt good to watercolor some flowers this week.  I'm sharing Power Poppy's Dazzling Display digital stamp watercolored with Tombow markers on Fabriano Artistico 140 lb extra white paper.

Keeping it simple, I matted onto SU Lovely Lilac to match the dahlia, then glued flat to a white card.  One of the sequins is covering up a smudge on the sentiment.  My printer ink is great for watercoloring IF I lighten the image first.  I printed the flowers in no-line and the sentiment full strength.  I thought I was being careful, but apparently I dripped some water on the sentiment.  I wasn't able to correct all the smudges, but the sequin helped a little.

There's more to see here:

That wraps up the week here, friends.  I'll be back next week if cards happen.  Take good care of yourself!

  8. WOW! As always, a stunning card! Isn't it wonderful how a little embelly can make those accidents happily disappear. How do you "print" in no line though? That's a term I haven't heard. I know how to do it with ink, but can you find a color light enough easily? Maybe I should investigate the use of my colors in Word. :-)

That bit of Lovely Lilac is the perfect accent of colour for your mat! And if you never mentioned the smudge one would never of known! The bit of shading around the florals is so dreamy! So happy to see your card today! Take care Leslie, hugs,

  17. Oh my the coloring is just wonderful, I wish my printer could handle thicker paper, but I can't justify getting rid of this printer for the few times I print off digi's.
Good cover up of the ink getting wet can't tell at all, love the beautiful color combo you came up with too, LOVE it!

  18. Your watercolouring is always amazing, Leslie. You have really brought these beautiful flowers to life with your colouring and shading. I would love to have white watercolour paper. I use Arches and have not found their white version. I might have to switch, because the white really enhances the colours. xx

And I hear you about smudges, especially when your panel is done and looking fabulous, been there, done that, my friend.
