Amaryllis and Jasmine

Back in the swing of things...  I realized it was time to get more Christmas cards done so I disciplined myself to settle into it.  I have several not-yet-used Power Poppy Christmas sets from their 2018 release and that's what I'm working with this year.  Today's cards use Amaryllis Bliss and the coordinating die set.  One of the nice things about this set is that it really doesn't have to be just for Christmas.

For the first card I used the amaryllis blooms and greenery.  Colored with Copics and arranged on the designer paper-covered card base.  Additional supplies are listed below each picture.

(Paper:  Fabriano Artistico bright white watercolor, vanilla card base (under designer paper), Webster's Pages Waiting for Santa designer paper  Ink:  Memento London Fog (for image), Memento Bamboo Leaves and Tuxedo Black  Accessories:  Red rhinestones, Scotch brand foam mounting tape  Other dies:  Die-namics Stitched Rectangle Frames, Spellbinders Lacy Pennants)

For the second card I used the greenery and the Jasmine sprigs to make a wreath.  I die cut a ring first and arranged the wreath elements over that.  Added a glittery bow and designer paper from the same pack.

(Supplies as previously specified, plus Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White cardstock and gold glitter cardstock.  Additional dies:  SU Wonderful Wreath Framelits Noel, Poppystamps Lovely Gift Bow)

Total Christmas cards so far this year:  22

Back in March this total might have sounded like good progress, but it's September.  I have quite a few more cards to make, but no worries.  It always gets done.  Have a happy day!

  1. Oh girl, these are lovely! I especially love the second one with the glorious wreath! I don't have very many cards ready to go yet but I keep working on it. The one's I have so far are dimensional and won't mail well so I need to work on flater cards for sure! You inspire me!

  2. You can master any medium you choose. The petals on the amaryllis look like velvet. And I like the stitched square cut from patterned paper. I may borrow that idea.
Everything about the second card is so pretty and polished. Again, I love the use of the die and patterned paper.
I hope you are making 22 more. I just love all your cards, but Christmas is my favorite!

I have my Christmas stamps sitting out but have yet had time to start in! Cooler here this week, the furnace actually came on this morning, it was 48 out, but to warm back to 70's and 80's next week again, so need to enjoy it while I can, I just hate the thought of having to wear shoes and socks again LOL!!

  11. Oh Leslie, what a gorgeous Amaryllis card, you captured the silkiness of the petals with your amazing coloring.
Your second card is equally gorgeous, love that wreath and the unusual design you cut for the background, the golden bow just finish this card beautifully.
I too have a few Power Poppy Christmas sets that are yet to be inked up, I'll get cracking and stamp some more Holiday cards, you can't never have to many.
Happy to see you back home and creating, it does feel amazing.
    Sending hugs, my friend.
    XO
    Maria.

  13. I love your Amaryllis card. Nothing says Christmas than that plant. Every year my Mom would have one on the hall table. Your wreath card is so pretty with the glitter bow! I'm just starting to think about Halloween/Thanksgiving. But I did find projects for the Wellness Center for Halloween and Christmas. Now to find the time. I'm trying to get them done early this year. We will see! Have a great weekend.

  17. They could not be more lovely, Leslie! And 22 cards finished so far is fabulous! Your shading in the amaryllis is exquisite! Such a deep, regal color, and the layered greenery beneath the flowers is a fantastic detail for mailing "flat" dimensional cards (is that possible?). I especially like your frame with the pale colors on two sides, and the festive music on 2 other sides. Your hand-made wreath is extra pretty, again with the layering, and pretty pattern papers. I always admire how artsy your cards are. Pure loveliness! hugs, de
