Birthday Birds

I'm back!  Remember I told you I made 20 cards for an order?  Well, this isn't one of them.  I took a break from sympathy and anniversary cards long enough to make a birthday card before I run out.  These are Magenta birds.  No name on the stamp, just a number (C95.193.J) which I searched, but couldn't come up with anything to link.  So very sweet, though, especially the two lovey birds on the end.

I had a lot of help from the Mintay Bird Song designer paper for this one.  Ohhhh, those Mintay papers, sigh...  Covered the card base and made the flowers and banner with it.  Cut a frame from coral card stock and stamped the birds in a teal blue ink.  Just some light coloring with Copics, coordinating with the paper.

I'm happy for this first time use of a stamp I received for my birthday in October.  That's pretty quick for me!

    Hi, Leslie! Your pretty smile on the top right with Wally just makes me smile all the more - That smile is more than enough reason to stop by. Your bird song creation reminds me that I have a ton of Magenta stamps in my collection calling out! How could I have ignored them for so long? Your tweeters are extra sweet (yes, especially the 2 on the left). Beautifully done in pastels with the bold turquoise ink, I am in love with your Mintay papers, too. Doesn't Spring just feel like this, though? Banners (with hearts) blooming flowers of all kinds, and birds EVERYWHERE! Today, I awaked to a pool covered in yellow pollen, and goodness, the oaks haven't even begun yet!

    Such a beautiful card. I love the birds and the wonderful colors used on your card. All the flowers work so well with it too. You do a great job adding layers. I am wishing I had some of that expertise too. I am so CAS and seldom get out of the rut. LOL

    Wow! There are so many beautiful details to look at on this card, Leslie. I love how you framed your focal image with an angled frame and then draped that cute banner across it. It's such an elaborate, beautiful card.

    Oh Leslie, you got to LOVE those Mintay pattern papers, they are truly gorgeous and the perfect background for your sweet and loving quartet of birds.
    Love the colors you chose to stamp them and the fabulous details you added, like the beautiful little flowers and that cute banner hanging across your panel.

Your Mintay papers are so perfect for your image (I used the same paper pack last night for a card I'm doing too - just love this paper).     Leslie you can bring any paper and stamps together to make it look like it was planned that way. Gosh I adore that about your work. This is beautiful. Cute birds, love the paper and the flowers along with the pennant sign. Beautiful birthday card.

    There is so much I have missed here on your blog and I'm delighted to have a few posts to catch up on. I love the way you can incorporate patterned paper into your designs and make the elements blend seamlessly. This beauty is an exquisite example. I LOVE the bird image surrounded by those unique flowers. And the teal? I never would have thought of that but you did and it's the perfect choice.
