Hello, friends! Here's the yearly question: How are you doing with Christmas cards? I took stock and found I'm still a few short, which means it's time for some simple cards before I get back to coloring. Today I'm sharing two of four I made one afternoon using an old favorite Inkadinkado set called Winter Birds. Does anyone have this set? I do think the stamps are beautiful.
The first card was minutes quick, with pretty paper, gold trim, and a die cut snowflake. The center of the snowflake would be a good place for a rhinestone, but keeping it lump-free and mail-friendly. The sentiment is an oldie from Stampin' Up.
With Card #2 I figured the swooshing snowflake and slanted sentiment somewhat follow the suggested trajectory of the birds' flight. I chanced some sequins on this one. Hope they're still intact after the card goes through the mail.
Both cards use Spellbinders Scored and Pierced Rectangles. Poppystamps Snowflake Ribbon on #2. Simple! Have a happy day!
wow two awesome cards here, love them both. xx
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are beautiful! I do love the birds and the snowflake and of course the sequins caught my eye. It is definitely time to finish those Christmas cards!
ReplyDeleteI do have this Inkadinkadoo set. It hasn't seen ink in years but I may be on a hunt after I finish this comment. Stunning cards, Leslie.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards!! The stamps are fabulous for cards that require no coloring...and as usual I always love your well thought out designs!! I do have have two 'inka' Christmas sets but not this one...you made me look lol!!
ReplyDeleteI have actually started creating again, now the problem is I have a ton of other things I need/should be doing and here I m sitting in my craft room!!

ReplyDeleteOh my, I wish I could say I only have a few Christmas cards to make! You can't go wrong with birds and snowflakes especially when they lokk as pretty as they do!

ReplyDeleteTwo Simply Beautiful bird themed Christmas cards, Leslie. Thank you so much for sharing. Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful cards, Leslie! I love the beautiful paper and design of the first one and you've given me much-needed inspiration with that second one with how you placed your swooshing snowflake! I have that die and never quite know where to put it. I really love it on an angle like you've done with this stunning card!! ❤Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous. You got such clear images and they filled in so nicely. Love the touches you added with the snowflake and papers.
ReplyDeleteNever seen these stamps Leslie but they are indeed gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYour ink pads must be really juicy because the images are stamped perfectly, even the very delicate details on both.
Love the beautiful pattern papers on both your cards.
Thank you for sharing.
XO
Maria.
I'm definitely short on my Christmas cards this year due to poor planning and a few other unexpected issues this year! But am jazzed none-the-less, and have thoroughly enjoyed your pretty creations these past few months, Leslie! Beautiful bird creations! xx
ReplyDeleteDouble WOW!! Love every single one of these! You amaze me daily with your creativity!!
ReplyDeleteMy stock of cards is good and I just mailed off the box to the RMH for the kids. Its a good thing I work on them all year long. Now to get them addressed and mailed. ;-) I like both of these. They are simple and classy feeling. The blue and white is probably my favorite though. You know me. hee hee
ReplyDeleteOh wow both designs are just gorgeous, love the colors and the little touches of paper and gold borders. Neat way you used the stamps on both of these. Great font on the sentiment on the second card. I am so far behind of where I wanted to be with my cardmaking, but I just have to get through the 6 cards I need to make for the birthdays I have in the first week of December and then I can get back to Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteGreat way to add to the stash, CAS cards are perfect for that, these are two gorgeous card Leslie :)
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are gorgeous, Leslie! I don't have that set, but I do have the "robin-y" stamp in another set. My Christmas cards are done and almost in the mail:) It's a great feeling. We are actually pretty much ready for Christmas. Amazingly. Enjoy the holiday season!
ReplyDeleteI just love these cards, Leslie! It's so special when you use a favorite set or elements that you have long-loved. Often they are similar to something that I have in my stash, but you give them new life and they are as pretty as ever. I love the blue card best, the snowflake in motion is a terrific addition! And you added sequins - hope they make it thru OK. Stunning creations!
ReplyDeleteTwo stunning Christmas cards Leslie, love the beautiful stamps you have used, colours are wonderful to.

I'm failing miserably this year with xmas cards. But that's because I'm doing more scrapbooking these days. I've made close family some handmade cards, the rest will be store bought. oh well!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful... Just love the stamping and the colours!
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful cards and love the stamps especially the ones on the first card --I only make Christmas cards for close family and any orders--everyone else gets a bought one!!!

ReplyDeleteYes I have this set and I love the cards you've made with it! Beautiful Leslie! What pattern paper did you use with the first... it's so lovely with the stamp! Just the right amount of embellishing!
