Friday's Flowers

Back to the pumpkins again, but thought I'd do a white one this time.  I love the Season's Seatings digital set with or without the chair, so I printed and colored both.  The first was watercolored.  This one was colored with Copics.  It's a very clean and simple card design with lots of white and only a length of silver cord for accent.

I had a hard time getting happy with the color of the pumpkin.  When you Google white pumpkins it depends upon which photo you view, but most in the pumpkin patch are not a stark white.  They have a subtle hint of yellow.  After I left this sitting for a while, dissatisfied, I went back over it with first E50 and then YR31.  Still not sure of it, but I'm leaving it alone.

As always, the more I stamp, the more I stamp.  It helps that it's been raining quite a bit, although it's beautifully sunny as I write this.  I'm hurrying off to my stamp room now before time gets away from me.  A little coloring each day keeps the blues away.  Take care, and enjoy your weekend!

Stamps:  Power Poppy Season's Seatings digital set  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, SU Going Gray, Ms Sparkle & Co wood grain designer paper  Ink:  Printer, Copics for coloring  Accessories:  Silver cord, Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One

  4. No need to fret about the color of your pumpkin! It's perfect! And a much better choice than orange because it shows off the beautiful flowers more! I have that edge die, but rarely use it. Seeing this gorgeous card reminds me to get it out again! You are truly the queen of flower cards!! Awesome job, Leslie!!

  5. The colors pop so beautifully against the white space and subtle paper choice. I think the color of the pumpkin couldn't be better! I love the clean elegance of this card and I'm glad to see the lovely fall image again. The soft gray mat, and stitching are perfect accents. LOVE the details on the flowers!
I know just what you mean about the more you stamp the more you want to stamp. I feel exactly the same way. Stamping more often gets me creatively in the flow. Too many choice squelch that.
    Enjoy your weekend, Leslie!

Of course I love your choice of flower colors ... when I was doing floral design back in Pittsburgh, this was one of my favorite color combinations to put together in a design! Love your overall design too ... stunning! HUGS (snowed here this morning ... guess summer is truly over [sad face] lol)

  9. Once again, you've hit it out of the park with your coloring! It's a darling image to begin with, and the colors you've chosen are perfect for it. As for the color of the pumpkin, I have at least 4 white ones...each one is a different shade. So your shade works just fine!

I love wood grain paper and this fits perfectly with your image. The tones of white and grey are so pretty Leslie, wrapped up with a bit of silver cording. Gorgeous card. As always, it's such a delight to see your cards Leslie! Have a wonderful weekend as well. I hope you got a chance to enjoy the sunshine, we woke up to snow this morning, didn't last, it turned to rain, so it's all melted.

  18. I love the white-ish pumpkins. I've seen them with an orange, green, and blue-ish cast before. There are so many varieties now. What really makes this CAS stand out and draws your attention to the focal piece is the detail you used with your die cut, piercing, and the wood grain card stock. None of which take away but add additional interest to the CAS itself. The cherry on top is the sliver cord! You're a master, Leslie!

    Hugs,
    Susie ~

P.s. Here's a fun question: Do you start coloring first, then think about the card layout. Or, do you see it as a whole picture before you start coloring/painting?
