CAS Santa

Monday greetings!  Card crafting slowed down when I decided to make gardening and housework and grocery shopping a priority for the time being.  I know, it's not nearly as much fun, but a necessity.  However, I still popped into my room a little bit each day so I could make a card for the current CAS Christmas Card Challenge.  The prompt this time is "Santa".  How could I resist the opportunity to use this darling Stamping Bella "Santa Has a Prezzie"?







How they describe CAS:

- clean (uncluttered) cohesive design
- must include white "or open" space (no pattern)
- minimal layers and embellishments

I think this qualifies, seeing as how CAS refers more to the design than to how much time you spent getting it that way.

Santa is colored with Copics and cut out.  I added white pearl pen sprinkled with microfine glitter to his hat and coat trim.  I isolated each "Ho" in the sentiment and circle punched -- 1/2", 5/8", 3/4".  Layered each punched circle onto a second circle for dimension, then lightly colored with a blue Copic and added Glossy Accents.  Arranged the circles to suggest Santa's laughter is receding into the distant mountains.  A sentiment is not considered an embellishment, but it sort of turned into an embellishment, didn't it?




Dies are Poppystamps Stitched Landscapes and Stitched Majestic Mountains.

    Such a sweet and adorable card Leslie! I love the scene that you created, and how the "HO's" seem to recede into the mountains - awesome effect. the background paper is perfect for your backdrop. Santa is coloured beautifully, you always do amazing colouring with your copics. Love the shimmer with the micro glitter, so fine, so pretty! I love when you create Leslie, and glad you found time between all your household chores to do some creating. Hope to see you back here soon. Have a wonderful day!

    Santa couldn't be more adorable and I want to tickle his glitter! What is a white pearl pen, Leslie? I noticed that fluffy sparkle first thing and must know how to do that! Your CAS is just right and I love it!

    Leslie, what cutie. Is he hiding that present, her certainly has a pretty cheeky look on his face. You really nailed that puffy snow at his feet and those mountain ranges look wonderful in the background.

    He is just too cute, love his fluffy beard and how you did the snow, such a cool way to have his voice going off into the distance like that, great touch with the glossy accents, great snowcap mountains too!

    Totally adorable Leslie!! Your Santa is the sweetest!! And beautifully coloured (as always by you!). Fun design with the mountains off in the distance. Love how the sentiment is echoing! :) Adding the little bit of snow to the top of each "HO" is one of the many fantastic details you've added to make this a very special, but CAS design!
