Watercolored Fall Vignette

Well, here we are again at another Friday.  These fall weeks speed by like they're in a hurry for winter, but flowers are still blooming wildly in many areas this time of year.  We can't let autumn leaves have all the fun, can we?

The stamp is one of the more recently released Power Poppy digitals called Season's Seatings.  I have this stamp in the So Grateful clear set and have loved it well, but was happy to see it now available in digital format 'cause you know I love to make them bigger.

Watercoloring was done with Tombow markers on Arches 140 lb hot pressed watercolor paper.  I covered the card base with wood grain paper and bordered with a leftover scrap of lattice which, in turn, was bordered with a scrap of plaid.  Carried the plaid up to the hearts to add some love to the sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Pure Prairie Spirit clear set.

I hope you're on your way to a nice weekend filled with good things, and if you love stamping as I do, may your weekend include plenty of it.  Take care!

  1. Where to begin! I love the die cut at the bottom; I love lattice. Then we move on to the wood grain background paper, the offset main piece with the stitching all around and of course your coloring is amazing. Love the shade of blue on the chair and that sweet sentiment too.

  2. Wow! I ditto everything that Glenda said above. This is amazing. You have such a great eye for all the detail you put into your cards. It's all the little things that make your cards so special - ie: the little twine bow, the angle of your image, the little double hearts, stitching, and I could go on and on, oh and then there is your watercolouring which is stunning as always, you know exactly where to emphasize the light and dark spots. A delightful card to see today Leslie! Have a wonderful weekend. hugs,

  13. Absolutely Gorgeous, love your choice of colors and beautiful job on the water coloring. Great use of your lattice left over and I like how the plaid uses the colors from your image, like the jute bow to top it all off!

  15. Your Tombow watercoloring is fantastic! And I'll bet you didn't know this, but you are the reason I decided to give Tombows a try - and now I love using them! Why in the world did I wait so long?!

I love this card with it's lattice border, and that perfect stitching - it's perfect! Using pumpkins (real or fake) to dress up with flowers or dried leaves is such a pretty way to say Hello Fall! Because our weather is still mild my Four O Clocks along the back garden fence are still putting on a show!

Your colors and details are amazing, Leslie! Do I see a few dots of splatters? Love those! The depth of your coloring on the red flowers is my favorite.
