More Merry Making Holiday Birds

So. . .  when I was over at Lil' Inker picking up the "Oh Deer" stamp set I'd had bookmarked for months, a few other things jumped into my cart as well.  I can never seem to get just one item.  This was my first time at Lil' Inker and I'm happy to report they have a good quality product.  It's fun to try something new once in a while, isn't it?

When I saw this "'Tis the Season" set I knew it was so me.  Just the right balance of whimsical and pretty.  I love bird stamps, anyway, and this bird is easy coloring.  Let your hair hang down coloring.  He could be purple if you wish.  I made four cards.

The stamped image on Card #2 was heading for the trash because I dropped the sentiment onto the image after I stamped it.  Bet you've never done that before, have you?  Luckily, I hadn't colored yet.  However, I realized most of the "ghosting" could be cut away, and that's how it ended up like this, all clean and simple and maybe my favorite of the bunch.

Two more with designer paper:

  • I stamped on Neenah 110 lb white.
  • The designer paper is old BasicGrey Eskimo Kisses.
  • Copic coloring.
  • Glossy Nuvo Crystal Drops in Apple Green.

Thank you for bearing with me while I finish up my Christmas cards.  I hope it doesn't get too tiresome.  It's unbelievable to me that we're at December 1st already.   Enjoy your day!

  5. So SO SOOOO cute! No wonder this festive little birdie popped into your shopping cart! He's the Christmas Cardinal all decked out, knowing that Miss Leslie would color him impeccably, and give him the perfect backdrop, no matter if it was with amazing papers, or oh-so clean and crisp with the CAS version! You're so right that it is the amazing quality of whimsy plus pretty that makes these stamps incredibly fun. I love your creations, right down to the fuzzy winter caps. I like your pretty bells as props, too! hugs, de

    Beautiful cards, Leslie!
I actually feel like let your hair down coloring could be something I'd enjoy, lol. Your papers are pure gorgeous-ness but you know? I like the stunning simplicity of card #2 best also.

  14. These are all amazing Leslie! Love this whimsical image, so perfectly coloured. Great recovering for the second card, I think it is one of my favorites, simply because I love white cards. Your background papers on the others are very pretty as well. I thought those green dots were enamel dots, I would of never thought they were Nuvo drops - you make them so perfectly, I need practice still to get them so perfectly round and smooth! And NO - I would never tire of your cards Leslie, each and every one of them I love, so yes keep them coming! Have a wonderful weekend!

  16. The blue bird is my favorite Leslie. I loved the red bird, but I've always been partial to blue birds (she smiles). I think I liked the contrast. And, you have always paired patterned papers so well - a skill I still have difficulty with. Have I ever dropped, spilled, or smeared my card - uh, YES! *haha* all the time. And I threw away a card today that I had worked on all afternoon. It was not a good day at all - ugh! Sometimes you just have to walk away. Your cards are both lovely, Leslie. I hope you and Rich, Wally and Lulu had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  24. What beautiful cards, Leslie, and I love this sweet image. It's tempted me, and you are tempting me again seeing how lovely they are with DP and without. I do love the CAS one, and I love to fussy cut. Haha! Thanks for sharing, and now I believe I am all caught up (not that anyone is counting...I just love your work). Hugs!
