Double D Silhouettes Challenge

Hello there!  I'm popping in with a sample for our Double D Silhouettes Challenge which starts today.  Show us your silhouettes, whether die cut or stamped.

I do have a few silhouette stamps, but I hadn't used these dies yet -- Memory Box Dragonfly Stems Left Corner, and Tall Grassy Stems Right Corner.  Very simple with ink rubbed onto the background, masked with a circle die cut for the sun.  I added a little ink into the sun area after lifting the mask.

Inspiration is here:

A prize for our Silhouettes Challenge is here:

I encourage you to pop over to Double D where the rest of the team samples are sitting pretty.  See the winners from our previous challenge, too.  We'd love to have you join us!

Have a happy day!

Stamps:  Stampin' Up Happy Harmony sentiment (retired)  Paper:  Strathmore mixed media vellum surface (for sponging), shimmery ivory (card base), gold metallic, black  Ink:  Stampin' Up So Saffron, Really Rust, Ruby Red; Versafine Onyx Black for sentiment  Accessories:  Memory Box Dragonfly Stems Left Corner and Tall Grassy Stems Right Corner, Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangles Large and Standard Circles Large, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

  1. Gorgeous! I love your background, the colours blend so well from one colour to the other. Love the MB dies you used, I looked at these as well, but well you know, would love to have them all but a little at a time! This is a perfect masculine card, very well done Leslie! I've just pinned it :).
    Have a wonderful day.

  13. I am very far behind in my blog reading and have missed seeing your beautiful cards! Love this one. I so often use white card stock for die cuts This is a good reminder of the impact black card stock can make! Love it!

  16. Wow! What lovely, mystical, magical texture you've achieved around your masked orb! It's just like a sun rising in Florida, as the dew from the ground rises to form that flowing fluid appearance in the air. Sometimes, after a summer rainstorm at sunset, we have that same appearance from steam - where the pearls of moisture are trapped mid-air, heavy, not sure whether to rise for future storms, or linger back on the ground until morning - that's what your color-textures remind me of, Leslie. It's a beautifully delicate creation, with an equally delicate, yet strong, sentiment! I love that it is a business size card! Sigh - I don't want to leave - I want to inhale deeply the peacefulness of your garden....
