Christmas Joy

Hello, friends!  Are you busy with this busiest of all seasons?  As I visit blogs and talk with friends I'm learning how some are cleaning and decorating, some baking, some shopping, and some are still working on their Christmas cards like me.  Or how about all of the above?  I got out my musical Christmas mug and a snowman bubble light for the hallway, and that's as far as I've gotten with the Christmas decorations.  However, as I write this Rich is putting up the outside lights, yay!  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

The other day I made six very simple cards, which helped with the progress.  I thought I'd make more of the one I'm sharing today, but by the time I made two I was already wanting to move on to another design.  I just can't seem to stick to assembly line multiples.

The Poppystamps Scribble Snowflake Circle was cut in white glitter paper then layered onto another in pale aqua so it would stand out against the white card base.  I feel like I'm having double vision when I look at it.  The "Joy" is an SU! Wonderful Wreaths Framelits die.  Polka dot paper was glued to a layer of white before I cut it.  That was glued onto another layer of 110 lb white.  It needed some substance so it would lay nicely over the double-layer snowflake circle.

Finished up with some Doodlebug enamel dots for extra color.  The card base is Neenah 110 lb which I absolutely love for these simple cards with few or no layers.  It's very sturdy.  I'll generally line the inside of a card to balance the weight, but it's not necessary with this heavy cardstock.

Happy holidays!

  2. What a gorgeous card! Love the colours and the CAS look here ... I do know what you mean about wanting to move on though ... I'm used to making batches for my Thursday club but when I had to do hundreds of wedding invites and Save the dates ... I was going crazy! Have a lovely day Leslie!

  3. What a great use of the polka dotted paper, Leslie! Makes me happy just looking at it! And your shadowed wreath is especially lovely! Very pretty! I remember the days of putting up outdoor Christmas lights! I loved doing that. We live so far out now, and on a dead end, that no one would ever see the lights, even us! LOL I imagine your house looks lovely! hugs, de

  12. So beautiful. I love the simplicity, but I really understand about the multiple cards. It's hard to keep making the same one over and over. I've got a long way to go too. Hopefully I'll have this weekend to make a large dent in it.

  13. Beautiful design, love the patterns you gave to it they pop against the white nicely, this reminds me I have a joy die cut I have not used :) I have all my fall decorations finally put away, today is going to be sweeping and rearranging to make room for the tree and dusting so everything is ready to put up decorations, hopefully by this weekend, I am not even going to mention the cards I need to make

  15. Sorry I'm so late at commenting! Love your CAS card today. Love the pattern on the "JOY", and how you overlaid the white and blue papers with the snowflake circle. Beautiful design, and of course your green enamel dots finish this off nicely!

  17. Oh, Leslie, this is a GORGEOUS CAS card, and I love the beautiful dies and how you've offset just a wee the "wreath" of snowflakes. And the "joy" is beautiful in polka dots! Love it! Hugs!
