Starbuck's Fall

I'm jumping ahead to the next season with this card, but I just had to use this sentiment stamp, which was a craft store impulse buy clear back in the spring.  The card was so fun and easy and quick, as in minutes quick.  Well, maybe closer to 60 minutes, but that's because I changed my mind a time or two along the way.  You know how that goes.

The Funny Bones sentiment comes complete with pumpkins and I thought how nice it would be to have a coffee die to go with this, but then I remembered this old A Muse coffee stamp.  They're a fun combo.

The background, which I cut with a Memory Box Autumn Border die, was done with inks blended on watercolor paper.  I forgot to flick some splatters on before I stitched it all together, so I went over it later with my SU! Itty Bitty Backgrounds splatter stamp.  Old combined with new.  There are just certain stamps that never wear out their welcome.

I'll be sending this to a friend in early fall with a, you guessed it, Starbucks coffee card.

You have a great day and I'll be back here again soon.  Take care!

  3. Wow, beautiful! What an awesome card for fall. Any recipient would love to receive this. Beautifully put together, love the colours, stitching, your leave accent and how you did the border with the wood grain paper behind! And of course that sentiment is just perfect. The itty bitty background stamp sure came in handy for you. I often forget to splatter, but I completely forgot about this little gem - thanks for mentioning it. Fabulous card Leslie as always. Enjoy your day!

  4. LOL! Wonderful sentiment to go with your pretty card, Leslie - I shall duck as I say, "I don't drink coffee or tea!" LOL Never acquired the taste for it. But its always fun seeing how my friends enjoy the aroma and drinking it in their many recipes of flavorings. I bet the pumpkin has spices in it? Sounds interesting! Hope you are enjoying a great day! xo
