RED PEONIES ON BRICK

Welcome back for Post #2 in my new home!

Today I've colored some red peonies and placed them on a brick wall with flourishes and scripture.  It's a simple combination of Power Poppy's Peony Love and Garden Fireworks digital stamps.

Before printing the peonies I arranged three of them together, and after coloring I cut out the whole lot.  If I'd known I was going to cut them out I probably would have printed each bloom individually, but in the end this was easier and I suppose it looks just fine.  I hardly ever plan the card before I print my digis.

Since I made this card per a friend's special request I minimized dimension so she'd have no concerns about extra postage.  The peonies are popped up on foam mounting tape, but otherwise no lumps and bumps.

It's short and sweet today!  Simple card, simple story, and the picture tells most of it.  I'll summarize the supplies below.  I'm so glad you stopped by while I'm still getting the feel of things around here.  Stay cool and have a beautiful summer day!

Stamps:  Power Poppy Peony Love (flowers) and Garden Fireworks (verse)  Paper:  X-Press It Blending Card (verse), Neenah 110 lb white (card base), red Bazzill, black  Ink:  Printer, Copics as pictured above  Accessories:  Stickles Stardust glitter glue, Sizzix Brick wall embossing folder, Frantic Stamper Trio of Swirls, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

  7. Oh my Gorgeous, I love the coloring of the flowers, that just shows what an artist you are they don't look like they are all together in one digi, your perfect coloring just brings them to life and gives such great look of dimension! Such a great reassuring verse and love the brick behind, she will be very pleased with this one!

  11. Oh Leslie, this is beautiful! Your peonies are coloured to perfection as always, love the depth you achieve when colouring. And as many have said above you can't tell that the flowers are all connected, I thought they looked individual, fabulous job! And love the embossed brick wall, and the flourish behind the peonies, just devine! I was thinking of working on a card tonight, and I think you have just inspired me to do some colouring. Thanks again for sharing such a beauty!
