Hi! I'm back again with some not so moldy oldies. This one is for The Paper Players Challenge where LeAnne has provided a sketch. As soon as I saw it I knew I had some spare parts that would work just perfectly.
I cut the card base and embossed with SU's Subtle 3D folder (retired), and I cut a mat for the leafy embossed panel, but everything else was already made:
Paper Smooches Foliage 1
The Ton Easy Expressions
Sizzix Tim Holtz Fallen Leaves 3D embossing folder
I brushed on SU inks Apricot Appeal, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, and stamped some black sprinkles via SU Itty Bitty Backgrounds.
Here's The Paper Players sketch:
Turns out I like this sketch a lot and will save it for future makes. Thanks, LeAnne!
I'm going to have to quit making cards and get back to my organizing project, but I keep getting distracted by all these fun toys! I have a few posts ready for later so maybe now...
Have a happy day!

This is so elegant Leslie! I love all the texture in the leaves and the color is just perfect too!! What a perfect way to express your sympathy...lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card to lift the spirit of a sad occasion. Love the leafy embossing folder. Have a great day
ReplyDeleteSo fun when products work together to make a beautiful card! This is lovely and peaceful Leslie! Sure to bring comfort.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, those 'spare parts' were destined to come together, and they did so just beautifully here today! Such a beautiful way to send condolences... and those teensy little birds are so sweet!

One of the best 'spare parts' cards I have seen, that embossing folder is gorgeous too, what a fabulous card!! I love this beautifully designed card!!
ReplyDeleteI have admired that leafy embossing folder for a long time. Maybe one day it will find its way into my stash. What wonderful colours, I love the golden brown xx
ReplyDeleteEverything about your card is wonderful especially the colors.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this card, Leslie.
ReplyDeleteWell this is just fantastic! The leafy folder, with some inky and a tiny mat to bring out the colours, the Subtle embossing and the tiny splatters - each little detail adds another tick to this card! That's before I even get to the lovely die cut panel and sentiment. Thank you for sharing this with us at The Paper Players.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning fall colours and a beautiful arrangement of the die cuts ❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat a striking card! I keep looking at that embossed leaves background--it's mesmerizing! Your elements work together so beautifully, it's a work of art! Anyone would be comforted to receive this card! So happy you played with my sketch this week at the Players!
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous, Leslie! The copper color you achieved is so deep and beautiful! I love that it's a bit off center and the openwork circle let's it peek through! Love those little birds too! Good luck with the organizing. It's so easy to get distracted by those 'old friends'.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, you seem to have so many spare parts but you have the ability to put them together to make a fabulous card. This one has such great texture and the colors are so complementary and great for a sympathy card. I love all of the detail right down to those black dots. You are an amazing Card Maker good to know you.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is so beautiful. I love that gorgeous background and the die cut is fabulous. Always a pleasure to come see what you have done.
ReplyDeleteOh my that is lovely, great colors, neat embossing and like what you used for the sketch, pretty arranging of the die cuts on the circle!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to utilize all those spare parts! I love all the texture from the individual elements and the gorgeous pop of warm brown works beautifully with the crisp white. The touch of yellow bridges the two together and picks up the highlights in that stunning embossed background. Gorgeous card, Leslie. So glad you shared this with us at the Paper Players this week

Very creative and beautiful design Leslie. It looks like those beautiful embossed leaves are made from wood. Same with the birds in the circle and the leaf sprig. Such a lovely design for a sympathy card. xx
ReplyDeleteThat is a great sketch and well done having perfect parts to make it shine, Leslie! I love the warm colors! I have that leafy e/f and how the movement looks the way you used color on it! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteLeslie, another stunner. This one is exceptionally gorgeous and is in my top 5 of your art.
ReplyDeleteThis card is a showstopper, Leslie! It took my breath away. The rich texture and colors are stunning. Your spare parts are amazing! Love the circle die and the sweet birds. YOU are amazing too - I took your inspiration and reorganized all my dies too!
