Hi there! Last month after Christmas cards were finally made n' mailed I sat with my baskets of never before used stamps and made up a few card kits. For each kit I stamped the images, chose papers and embellishments, and in most cases I prepped the card base to the point that all I had to do was add the focal panel and embellishments. There are a few different reasons for doing this, but mostly it was just plain fun.
A few days ago I pulled this kit out of the basket and finished the card. I paired a not-yet-used Unity stamp with an old favorite Spellbinders die combo. It was all prepped and ready to go with ancient SU designer paper peeking from under the decorative die. I colored with Copics, then glued the image panel to the card base and added the sentiment and gold sequins. Sweet as honey!
I'd like to play in the following two challenges
NBUS Challenge #82 -- Never before used schtuff (Unity Sweet as Honey stamp)
I'm so glad we could visit today. We'll get together again real soon, okay? Take care!

What a beautiful ray of sunshine this card is Leslie! Your colorful blooms and die cut frame with the dsp peeking through make for such a cheery card and that bee is just too darn realistic!! Great idea to make up the card kits too and just being able to have fun putting it all together! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

ReplyDeleteWow! I absolutely love the opposite colors used in your masterpiece, Leslie! That purple and gold really make each other bedazzle at their finest. And yes, I love that spellbinders style. But mostly it’s that delicate, one with nature, beauty that you bring out in your nature cards. That just captures my heart. Love love love this creation. And thanks for sharing how you build a little kits so that when the time comes, you’re mostly prepared to build a beautiful greeting for one of your friends. Wishing you the best, xx

ReplyDeleteI could look at this beautiful card and think it took hours to make. What a wonderful way to get in some stamping with the kits already prepped. The amazing coloring is sweet as can be!
ReplyDeleteOh Leslie. Your colouring is amazing! love the colours of those gorgeous flowers, beautiful layout ..
ReplyDeleteWell, hmm, now you've got me thinking ... what a great idea, Leslie! I will be interested to see how you find this system because I often end up with a whole basket filled with UFOs, but I have the hardest time reaching for it when I want a card. I don't know why that is, because it would certainly be easier than starting from scratch. Maybe I need to flesh out each half-baked design a bit more, like you say, make an actual kit. You are so smart!
ReplyDeleteAnd this card turned out gorgeous! The elements are all lovely and, definitely, sweet as honey together! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Happy New Year! Hugs, Darnell
These shades of pink and yellow are so pretty together, Leslie! Your coloring is fantastic as always and the combination of image, die cut and paper are a perfect match!
ReplyDeleteI should be so organized, and prepping would help when Mojo is low or gone for a walkabout. Beautiful image, coloring and card design. Thanks for joining in at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge and sharing your lovely card.
