Elves

Hey there!  I hope you can bear another Christmas card post.  Time's running out to play along in the CAS Christmas Card Challenge as the current "Elf" challenge ends on the 24th.  I honestly was thinking I didn't have any elf stamps.  Suddenly I remembered one digi stamp, and just as I finished coloring it I remembered the elves in an old Stampin' Up set.  Now I have two elf cards -- oh, happy day!

Pictured below is the card I did first.  It's an old Sassy Cheryl's digital stamp which is no longer on the site, so apparently discontinued.  It's called Delivery Boy Santa, meaning, I suppose, "Santa's Delivery Boy" because this sure looks like an elf to me.  I watercolored with Tombow markers.  Very clean and simple with just an image and a sentiment from my stash.

Next are the elves from the retired Stampin' Up Holiday Line Up.  Quickly colored with Copics on X-Press It Blending Card.  It's probably evident that I didn't put much effort into the coloring, but they still look pretty cute.  I added some designer paper trim to this one.  Another sentiment from my stash, not part of the SU set.

I'm thrilled to say... Total Christmas cards so far this year:  17

Many thanks to the CAS Christmas Card Challenge crew for the inspiration!  Have a happy day!

These are absolutely adorable. My pick would have to be the delivery elf as I have always loved the Sassy Cheryl images. Your coloring is spot on and I love that both are flat and easy to mail! Very important these days. Hope you have a lovely day!

Omg! Both of these are awesome!! I've been buying Sassy Cheryl images for years but have never seen that one! I'm going to ask her to bring it back! I really love that stamp and just have to have it now! I haven't seen the stamping up one before either! Don't know how I missed that one either! Fantastic job on both of these, my friend!

Leslie, these are adorable, fabulous, awesome Elf cards! Wow, love the CAS layout on both of these. I agree with what Sherri said, I've never seen this one from Sassy Cheryl, and we need to have her bring this one back for sure. Your colouring on these are spot on! My favourite one is the first. I would say you are well on your way with having 17 done - good for you! I hope to get some cards done today as I'm off work, but the sun is shining and I thing Bill and I are going to venture outdoors today. Have yourself a wonderful day Leslie, and thanks for sharing your creativeness, I love when you colour!

Ohh!! I'm giggling as I write this comment, what a beautiful, adorable pair of cards Leslie!!! I'm so happy you are adding these to your stash of Holiday cards, at this rate, you'll be totally set when December approaches.
Love the line up of Elves, what a fun group of friends. And the Elf carrying all those gifts, I hope one of them is for me, I've been an awfully good girl.
Thank you for sharing my friend.
XO
Maria.

Oh, and I forgot to tell you that I'm also happy to see you inking up your old, retired stamp sets, this one escaped me when it came out, I might have to go hunting for it, LOL!!

How darling, Leslie! I find it so satisfying and enjoyable getting older stamps out and using more up to date techniques with them. I imagine you do, too. The flying ribbons in your gift bearing elf are fabulous, and the teetering package with the long tag is just sweet as can be. It's a fantastic card, and so is your grouping of elves watching with jealousy because they do not have gifts to bear! But their rosy cheeks indicate they are in good company. There is your favored rick-rack die, too. So cute, and you already have SEVENTEEN made! Good for you! hugs, de

17 Christmas cards already?!! I have not a 1 ! I have a hard enough time just keeping up, Leslie! I love your coloring whether you do it quickly or take your time - it's just that good! I love the retired Stampin' Up line up of elves - makes me chuckle; it's a darling card! The candy cane border and pointillism are perfect!

You found two cute elf stamps, love your watercoloring and how you did the sentiment with it is so neat. I love the sentiment you paired with the second, like it was made for that stamp, your strips of paper are perfect too. I like how your not much effort in coloring would be my giving it my all, LOL! too cute!

Leslie, thanks so much for hopping over to my blog for a visit! I remember following you when I first started blogging and then for some reason, I drifted away! I will definitely be back! Your elves are very cute...I don't have any elf stamps either! But I do remember that elf lineup and thinking how fun that would be to color in! You did a great job and someone will get a chuckle when they receive it this Christmas!

Accck...these are the CUTEST little elves ever!! They made me smile right off with their grinning little faces, what cute stamps and images you have!! I have not made one Christmas card yet, but you have totally inspired me to get going!! As the weather gets better and better it's hard to sit inside and do anything, and I told myself that THIS year I am going to spend more time 'out of' my craft room, save it for rainy days as I feel like last summer I missed it all!

Two wonderful elf cards, Leslie! Love that delivery elf image, so cute! Love the bright colors you used to color him and the elves of the other card. Glad you played with us at CAS Christmas this month.

Super cute cards, Leslie!! Is there a trick to doing whimsical coloring? Because whenever I color it seems to take me so long I don’t attempt it as often due to that. I really like the loose look of colors on your elves and you’ve managed to make so many cards for Christmas...I am so Impressed!! Just adorable and fun and love that they will be easy to mail out!!
