Life Without Coffee

Happy Friday and happy September, folks!  Weren't we just starting summer yesterday?  I love when the seasons change, but if it could do it without the years flying by so fast I would appreciate it.  Such is life, though.  On to the matter at hand...

It doesn't get much simpler than this when it comes to card making, but sometimes it doesn't take much to make exactly the right card for the person you have in mind.  This was sent to a friend at my former workplace along with a coffee card from the in-house shop.  A recent email from her sounded like she could use a pick-me-up.

I combined a Whipper Snapper sentiment with an Art Impressions Bird Brains image.  It gave me a giggle and I hope it gives her a giggle, too.  Since I have so much designer paper to use up I did what I so frequently do -- covered the card base with it.  I've been wondering if I could get by with only white and ivory cardstock.  Probably not, but I'm ruthlessly clearing out my stamp room and I have way too much cardstock.  How is it that the volume never seems to go down even though it's been ages since I bought a pack of colored cardstock?

Let's all go have a good weekend now, okay?  We're staying home with Wally (he's doing great!), but company's coming so I suppose I should clean something.  See you soon!

Stamps:  Whipper Snapper Life Without Coffee (WSD#JR792), Art Impressions Bird Brains (UMD1878)  Paper:  Neenah Classic White, Snap Color Vibe designer paper  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic markers for coloring as pictured above  Accessories:  Memory Box Cross Stitched Frames,  Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Oh Leslie, this is such a fun card - love it, makes me chuckle! I know a few people who could use a card like this! Love the paper and that bit of colour on the snowman - it just pops off the center of your card. Thanks for sharing and making me smile first thing in the morning. I know what you mean about why the paper never seems to go down - I think it's because we have too much - LOL! Glad Wally is doing well. Enjoy your company this weekend!

Simply perfect, Leslie!! I love all of the white, but yet you used up some patterned paper, too. Good to hear that Wally is doing well. Enjoy your company!

I laughed and laughed when I saw this cute and crazy image, this should totally cheer your friend up!! I have a ton of colored card stock (all SU) and I am trying my best to use it up, like you I normally just use white and/or cream for my base since I found the wonderful card stock that Michael's carries is 110 wt and so reasonable with a coupon..lol! However I find myself wanting to buy some red...it is never ending is it. Glad Wally is doing so well, too!

This card is just a hoot ! I actually have this bird stamp and had honestly forgot all about it . What a darling wait to use it !! And life without coffee would be worse than scary . What I thoughtful way to cheer up your friend ! If I have time today I will take a picture or two of my paper and you will feel so much better . My paper addiction has gotten totally out of control and I am not buying one more sheet . Give our fur babies a hug from me .

LOL! Too silly! My mom would have loved that card for sure, Leslie. Wonderful design, and just SO MUCH FUN!

WHATTTTTT! The seasons CHANGE? you mean, there is more than ONE? Someone needs to advise us, with temps in the mid 90s, and humidity averaging about 90% these days. LOL

I am assuming Mr. Wally continues in his recovery. You are such a good mom. Wishing you a happy week-end! hugs, de

First of all...this has become one of my absolute favorite colors. I love wearing it, but can rarely find a top in the color. I'm wearing out the two tops that I've had for a few years. :-) The cross stitched frame is darling and that chicken is funny as can be!
